This timeline traces the milestones that built Omani fencing, committee formation, FIE membership, the first Arab medal, the first national championship, and the emergence of a generation of internationally competitive athletes.

Oman Fencing Committee established

The Oman Fencing Committee is formally constituted under the umbrella of the Oman Olympic Committee, launching the sport on a national footing for the first time.

Closer to FIE recognition

The committee moves a step closer to global recognition following formal engagement with the International Fencing Federation (FIE).

FIE membership approved

First Arab medal

First domestic championship

The committee organises the first edition of the Sultanate of Oman Fencing Championship, with eight clubs competing across junior foil and épée categories.

Asian umpiring licence

Omani officials Tabook and Al Harthi earn the Asian umpiring licence, strengthening the country's international officiating presence.

Jana Al Sharji, Israa Al Siyabi and Salma Al Daghishi win bronze at the Asian Junior Fencing Championship in Kuwait, the first Asian-level women's medal for Oman.
